july mood

July has us leaning into the laid-back charm of fisherman core—sun-drenched days, salty breezes, and interiors that whisper of tides and timeworn tales. It’s the month for homes that feel like they’ve been handed down from a sea captain’s granddaughter: lived-in, loved-on, and layered with history. We’re talking washed linens in faded nautical tones, vintage oil paintings of stormy seas, driftwood tables bleached by time, and soft cotton throws that smell faintly of the ocean.

Wicker everything makes a comeback—from baskets to bedside tables—while ropes, knots, and sailor stripes sneak their way into unexpected corners. Open shelving becomes a display case for seashells, old books, and hand-thrown ceramics that look like they’ve spent a lifetime aboard a sailboat. And let’s not forget the lighting—soft, golden, and just a little bit hazy, like the sun slipping behind the horizon after a long, lazy day.

July invites us to pare back, slow down, and let our spaces breathe. It’s about embracing imperfection, mixing the rugged with the refined, and letting the breeze blow right through. So light that sea salt candle, kick off your shoes, and let your home become a love letter to the coast—weathered, warm, and full of stories yet to be told.
